Cat on a mat

I love ragwork. It's a real winter craft, brilliant for those nights in by the fire and it grows so quickly too which I like. I'm not much of a knitter, I'm too impatient, so I do this instead. This cat was hooked using t shirt fabrics which give a good knobbly texture and a fairly hard wearing. This chap will be made into a cushion cover now that he's finished. I've got four more on the go and I hope they'll be done by the end of the month.

I have been sewing since I was a little girl...that's a lot of years...and it's great to find a place full of people with similar talents and experiences. I thought it was about time I joined too.
I'm very excited to see so much art and craft going on, it's an inspiration!

I've begun this year, as many people do, with a list of things that need to be done. As well as the usual stuff that has to be sorted, I've made it my aim this year to concentrate on my sewing more and to try and exhibit and sell more work. I'll see how I go!
